Asthma and its triggers!

Coco Asthma As mentioned in one of our last posts, Coco releases zero chemicals into the air and is therefore the safest air freshener for users with asthma and allergies. The question that comes up is of course why Coco is supposedly the safest air freshener for asthma (and allergy) sufferers. To answer this question we have to explain what asthma is exactly and by what it can be triggered. Asthma is a chronic disease that involves the airways in the lungs, also called bronchial tubes that allow air to come in and out of the lungs. The airways of people with asthma are always inflamed and can swell even more when triggered by irritants including physiological factors (viral infections), environmental factors (dust or mold) and non-environmental factors (such as exercise or stress). What happens is that the muscles around the airways will tighten and make breathing a lot harder, causing symptoms such as coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Some of the allergic triggers are known to be mold, animal dander, pollen, cockroaches and dust-mites. While other triggers of asthma include chemicals, fumes, odors, tobacco smoke and air pollution (smog). According to the Asthma Society of Canada “the nature of risk is unclear because studies have not taken into account indoor allergens, although these have been identified as significant risk factors. Experts are struggling to understand why prevalence rated world-wide is, on average, rising by 50% every decade.” Not only is the number of people diagnosed with asthma rising in Canada, but also in the United States, where the number of people with asthma “grew by 4.3 million from 2001 to 2009,” and where “asthma was linked to 3,447 deaths (about 9 per day) in 2007 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2011).” Even though many triggers have been listed and researchers are continuously trying to find solutions to the disease, the number of people diagnosed with asthma is rising. Therefore, it is of course helpful for people with asthma to get rid of triggers as much as possible. Some of the triggers that are mentioned before are chemicals, fumes, odors and air pollutants and at Nexten Pro we are hoping that Coco Natural Air Freshener (Coco) can be of help by reducing the presence of those triggers. Coco can be useful because it absorbs odors and pollutants from the air, to make it cleaner and safer for people with asthma to breathe. Also, aerosol cans might be replaced by Coco because aerosols are known for spreading chemicals into the air, which are asthma triggers. Coco Natural Air Freshener is the first product line from Nexten Pro, and we are dedicated to helping people live healthy and odor free lives without the use of harmful chemicals.
